Belly laughs and free fun for over 55s

A group of over 55s from Lincolnshire had a go at belly dancing for the first time last month at a fun, free taster class at Spalding Services Club.

The free event was part of First Time for Everything, a community programme designed by Royal Voluntary

Service to support both physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Carol Hind, local belly dancing instructor, introduced participants to the activity and took them through some beginner moves.

They also enjoyed free refreshments afterwards.

* There is the chance for over 55s to try a mandala drawing and painting workshop next week.

The event, from 6pm to 8pm at Spalding Services and Social Club, will be taught by activity coordinator Andrea Briggs.

A mandala is a geometric design with deep symbolism in Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
Making Mandala art is often used as a way to meditate and practice mindfulness.
