Historic Cley Hall Hotel on market for £695,000

One of Spalding’s finest hotels is up for sale as a going concern.

The Cley Hall Hotel, in High Street, is being sold for £695,00 and is described as a “lifestyle business with tremendous potential for future growth.”

The elegant Georgian property, being marketed by Colliers International property experts, has been put up for sale by its current owners David Stanbridge and Andrew Robb, who the agents say have spent considerable time and money updating the hotel and enhancing its reputation since taking it over in 2011.

The 15-bedroom hotel, situated in a prime location alongside the River Welland, is currently a popular venue locally for small weddings and private functions.

Jonathan Wren, of Colliers International, said: “Cley Hall Hotel is a magnificent property with a wealth of charm and retaining many original features.

“The owners run the hotel very much as a ‘lifestyle’ business and spend at least 12 weeks a year overseas.

“With a dedicated hands-on approach and a push on weddings and food, the hotel could undoubtedly trade at higher levels of both turnover and profits.”

The property listing on Colliers website states that the hotel already has a turnover of more than £328,000 a year, which could be easily increased – especially as it benefits from planning permission to extend the hotel to create a 100-cover restaurant.

The award-winning hotel also boasts a self-contained flat for use by its owners, as well as parking for 18 cars and a pretty walled-garden.

Mr Wren added: “The sale of the Cley Hall Hotel represents a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic new owners.”
