A Norfolk first place for Burrell

Five newcomers to Parkrun were among 81 starters at the weekly Snowden Field Parkrun on Saturday.
Volunteer ranks were boosted by 18 members of Werrington Joggers, lending their hands to the variety of roles needing to be filled each week to allow the event to go ahead.
A personal best time of 19 minutes enabled Peterborough & Nene Valley runner Ryan Anderson to cross the line first, with Maija Garkalne the only member of Spalding-based Halmer Harriers in the top ten, finishing in 23:47.
Teammate Simon Eldridge was 19th, 26:40, with Debs Norman 41st, 32:03, and Rebecca Pearce 42nd, 32:22.
Harrier Scott Burrell took the honours at the Great Yarmouth North Beach run on the Norfolk coast, coming first of 126 finishers in 24:40.
There was also a top ten spot for Adam Caress, who was sixth in the Ashington Community Woodland Parkrun, in Northumberland, completing the 5K run in 20:10.
Three other members of the Spalding club took on the Ferry Meadows challenge, with Lisa Gill 370th of 662 runners in 30:16; Jayne Pell was 551st, 38:00; and Kathryn Chapman 562nd, 38:45.
Emily Brown travelled up the A16 for the Boston Parkrun, coming home 82nd of 175 finishers in 29:56.
