Pupils head back to the 1940s

Pupils at Weston Hills Primary School had a day of finding out more about what VE Day is all about.

They joined an online presentation which included films from the archives, made paper hats out of newspapers in the style of war time children and enjoyed a tea party in the bunting decorated playground, drinking from tea cups and saucers whilst enjoying an assortment as cakes and biscuits whilst singing “We’ll Meet Again”.

They finished the afternoon with a presentation by the grandparents of one of the pupils who has a collection of WW2 memorabilia which he shared and answered questions about.

A school spokesman said: “It was a day of celebration and reflection.”
