Wright on for a narrow victory

More than 100 golfers from across the region converged on Tydd St Giles Golf Club for the annual men’s Autumn Open competition.

The individual medal competition was played in heavy rain throughout the day and organiser Gino Ciuffini thanked all for turning out in such conditions.
Despite the weather, the competition saw some very good scores, with first place going to Dean Wright on countback from Paul Hunt and James Neve.
His net score of 67 (71-4) was equalled by Hunt 67
(76-9) and Neve 67 (81-14) but he just scraped through for victory.
Fourth place went to Martyn Kieman with a net score of 70 (93-23).
The Division One winner was Scott Williams, 70 (86-14) with countback deciding the next three places – Wayne Cayzer 71 (83-12), Bradley Martin 71 (82-11) and Nathan Welsby 71 (84-13).
