Thank you is grand gesture for veteran’s care

A philanthropist has donated £1,000 to a community hospital for the way its looking after a veteran.

Harold Payne, the owner of the Anglian Motel, wanted to thank Holbeach Hospital for its treatment of Douglas Marsh who turned 101 on Monday, July 8.
Among those in attendance were Harold’s friend John Kinder, who said: “Douglas is a World War II veteran and he says Holbeach Hospital is a wonderful place to live and the staff are fantastic to him.
“Harold, with the help of Pete Morriss and Pete’s wife Wendy, have raised the funds at the Anglia Motel through collections.
“Harold, a serial fundraiser for 40 years along with help, has raised over £1m for veterans and good causes.
