McMillan stars in defeat

Moulton Harrox’s Sunday side lost out to Royal Strikers Peterborough on Sunday in the Rutland League Division Four East.

Moulton opted to bat first on winning the toss at the Vivacity Bushfield Leisure Centre but, bar Flynn McMillan (30) and Blake Wolstenholme (33 from 24 balls), the visitors struggled in the face of some good bowling.
Only Liam Barwick (12) otherwise made double figures as Moulton were restricted to 133 all out in the 33rd over.
Strikers looked to be strolling to their target with Asik Shajimon hitting 12 fours and a six in his 54 ball 66 while Vusruth Odukathodi (7) gave him the strike in an opening stand of 81.
But McMillan (4 for 26) took three quick wickets to give Harrox hope of pulling off an impressive win.
Cameron Fox also claimed 2 for 8 from his five overs as the home side lost six wickets for 18 runs to leave them 99 for 6.
However fresh from taking three wickets in Moulton’s innings, Jeby Joseph (21 not out) dug in alongside Nithin Leons (6 not out) to ensure Strikers earned a four-wicket win that puts them third in the table.
Moulton remain fifth after eight matches.
