School celebrates turnaround

A Spalding primary school is celebrating a glowing Ofsted report.

Spalding Parish C of E Day School has been rated ‘outstanding’ in four of out of the five categories the body inspects schools on.
It rated the school ‘good’ overall despite that being its lowest rating in the category of ‘the quality of education’.
Behaviour and education, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision were all found to be ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors when they visited on June 11 and 12.
A previous incarnation of the school was rated ‘inadequate’ during its inspection in November 2018.
It was officially closed and reopened under the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust the following month.
This was Spalding Parish Day School’s first inspection since.
“Since opening in December 2019, the school has developed to be an exceptional place for all pupils to thrive,” the report published this week states. “Leaders have worked relentlessly to completely transform the school.
“They have made strategic changes to bring about significant improvements to all aspects of school life.”
It continues: “Pupils live and breathe the school’s values in all aspects of school life.
“They are exceptionally well behaved.”
Spalding Parish Day School’s head Diane Mulley said: “I am delighted that Ofsted has recognised all the exceptional work going on at the school.
“I am fortunate enough to experience the special place that Spalding Parish is daily and am always very proud to be part of this unique community.
“I am thrilled that during the inspection this was very clear to inspectors too and they recognised all the brilliant things in place as part of our school provision.”
Anglican Trust CEO Jackie Waters-Dewhurst said: “I’m so proud of Spalding Parish, the head, teachers, support staff, the pupils, and the wider community.
“It’s a shining example of what can be achieved when we work together.”
