Council looking at using AI

South Holland District Council is looking into using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for some of its services.

The issue was brought up at a recent meeting of the council.
Coun Jim Astill, the council’s portfolio holder for corporate governance and communications, said: “AI has a position in some of the things we do and it can revolutionise some of our customer service systems by making information more readily available.
“Before we do that we need to make sure we have the right controls and governance in place and there is a strategy that will go through scrutiny panels at some point for members consideration.
“We will look to use it where appropriate and we can do.”
