Bourne pull clear at top

Breaks of 36, 29 and 20 from Lester Gaunt (O10) proved decisive as Bourne SC stretched their lead at the top of the Spalding Billiards League with a 4-3 win against third-placed Holbeach B to pull five points clear.
Elsewhere in the league, it was a case of revenge is sweet. Gosberton B enjoyed a 5-2 win against Pyramid A, ample vengeance for a 7-0 drubbing in the reverse fixture. Shane White (O40) led the way with breaks of 60, 37 and 32 in a decisive last frame.
Gosberton A also wiped out memories of an early season 7-0 defeat by winning 4-3 at Pyramid B to keep alive their hopes of avoiding the wooden spoon. Jamie Mumby (R80) and Malc Dennis (R110) were their winners.
To complete a hat-trick of reversals, there was a surprise 5-2 win for Holbeach A against second-placed Consti A after they had lost the away match 7-0. Mick Cooper (O200) chalked up breaks of 51, 43 and 24.
In the Knockout Shield Consti B were 5-2 victors against Donington.
