LETTER: Councillor could have appealed

May I, through your paper, reach the residents in the Bourne Road area to assure them that all licensing by South Holland District Council is taken very seriously and that there is a procedure to ask for a review of any licence premises that are in breach of the conditions.

There is also an opportunity to appeal within 21 days of the granting of a licence to a magistrates’ court on the decision, something Coun Newton could have done rather than raise the fears of residents on things that may never happen.

Coun Francis Biggadike
Vice-chairman, South Holland District Council licensing committee
