37 new homes for Cowbit get planning go-ahead

A plan for 37 new homes in Cowbit has been passed, although two ward members spoke against it.

Coun Anthony Casson told last week’s South Holland District Council planning committee meeting that he is concerned about drainage of the site in Backgate. He also believes local schools and GP surgeries are under enough strain, and believes there are “too many” planned properties with the nine on the Dun Cow site.
He voted against Ashley King Developments’ plan.

Coun Andrew Woolf is not a committee member and therefore could not vote. He had road safety concerns, describing Backgate as a “rat run”.

The committee heard that Lincolnshire County Council had yet to respond after being consulted over schools provision.
