LETTERS – Fireworks raised £1,509.23

I would like to thank, on behalf of Sutton Bridge Parish Council, the many, many people who attended our firework spectacular on Sunday, November 5.
The crowds, approaching 2,000, that attended exceeded our wildest dreams, however this did lead to a delay in the timing of the display, and we apologise and hope it didn’t cause any inconvenience.
We raised in total £1,509.23 from the donations kindly given by spectators on the way out from the display, together with sponsorship paid by the fast-food outlets and the fair for which we are more than grateful.
This sum of money will be ring-fenced to assist with replacing and renewing children’s play equipment in the various parks in the village and we hope that this display will be the start of an annual event.
Once again, many many thanks to all that helped in organising and dealing with the event and for those that came and supported us so generously.
