Nigel shocked by Great Britain call up

A Donington snooker player and fundraiser for the Motor Neurone Disease Association has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Disability Games in Thailand.

Nigel Brasier, who has a from of the condition called Primary Lateral Sclerosis, is no stranger to playing abroad and has enjoyed another successful season on the World Disability Snooker tour.
He’s in Germany this weekend after trips to Belgium and Ireland.
But now he’s set to go even further and to Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand from December 1 to 9 to take part in a tournament called Snooker Six.
Nigel himself applied for a place and found out this week he would be heading there.
“I was shocked,” he said. “I’ve never been there and I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s an absolute honour to be able to represent my country.
“I’m really enjoying my snooker at the moment, loving being on the World Disability Snooker tour and recently won my snooker charity day.”
Nigel will also be looking for his first win away from home.
In his World tour showings he’s made the semi-final on two occasions in the main event and lost in the final three times of the Challenge Cup, the competition for those who didn’t make it through the original competition’s group.
“This is all completely new to me, but I’m looking forward to it,” Nigel said.
