Indoor teams off to a flyer

Spalding Indoor Bowls Club’s men’s County League team started the season with a 12-2 (77-59) win at home against Boston A.

Spalding won on three out of the four rinks with the top winning rink skipped by David Nunney, with Jack Wells, Mick Dolton and Anthony Cronin, winning 23-10. Spalding’s next fixture is at Stamford A on Saturday, October 14.

Spalding’s over 60s County League team had a great start to the season with a comfortable 14-0 (91-57) win at home against Boston B, winning on all four rinks. The top winning rink was skipped by Terry Windsor, with Tony Westland, Nigel Strickson and Ian Stafford who had an impressive 27-10 win. The next fixture is at Sleaford on Monday.
The mixed County League team started their season at Skegness. Spalding were ahead from the start and after ten ends were eight shots ahead. That was extended to a final 84-65 as Spalding won on three out of the four rinks. The top winning rink was skipped by Mick Jennings, with Jan Sinclair, Tim Rogers and Maisie Belding who won 27-10. Their next fixture is at home against Boston on Sunday.
