Am I the only one who is somewhat confused over the article in The Voice (September 21) regarding the alteration and the ending of the purple sack scheme, which apparently has been in operation in Pinchbeck and Surfleet from September 2019 stated by Coun Jack Tyrrell?
Are we now to understand that the purple bags were not a success after nearly four years of being in operation? With no explanation as to why this is the case. And we are now expected to re introduce paper and cardboard back into the green bags?
Surely this will make the process of separation much more complex and time consuming, hence more expensive?
Or is it just a case of how quick the rounds can be done to save on operational costs, and nothing to do with recycling!
