Primary academy has ‘inspirational leaders’

A Spalding school is heading towards an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grade according to its latest inspection report.

Wygate Primary Academy has inspirational leaders with high expectations for all its pupils, says the report
“There is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding if we were to carry out a graded inspection now.
The school’s next inspection will be graded,” the inspector noted.
Staff and pupils have all been celebrating after the July visit.
Executive headteacher Dr Craig Early said: “Whilst this recognition from Ofsted is certainly something we should rightly celebrate, the deeper image that the inspector formed about our school and community is the real win for us here.
“The report only carries a small sample of what the inspector told us children and parents said about the school.
“To read the views in the report is something very special – it meant the world to all staff here.”
Reading is prioritised and staff have been providing with the training they need to teach it well.
“Leaders and staff work well together to provide a caring environment and an ambitious curriculum for all their pupils,” added the report.
The report said leaders are ‘relentless’ in their in their drive and determination.
“Pupils’ personal development is at the heart of the school’s work. Leaders ensure that the curriculum extends beyond the academic,” the report noted.
The school has 278 pupils aged from four to 11 on its role.
