Weather didn’t spoil fun day

Celebrate Surfleet has been hailed a success despite having to battle extreme heat and torrential rain.

The event, which took place at Glen Park on Sunday, saw the planned dog show cancelled because of the heat and then stallholders had to pack up early due to a heavy storm.
Despite the weather everyone who attended had a great time.
Attractions included the Rock Bus, bouncy castles, Lincoln Owls, a demonstration by Kuk Sool Won juniors and hot air balloons.
There was a classic car show and animatronic dinosaurs.
There were stalls selling a variety of goods, while charities and groups including Spalding Lions and St Nicolas community brass band attended.
The event was officially opened by the South Holland Ambassador Star Perry and her deputy Holly Kendrick.
