Views on mental health help sought

A group that’s the voice of patients in Lincolnshire are looking to hear people’s views of mental health services in the community.

Healthwatch Lincolnshire are looking for the experiences from service users and their carers, parents, relatives, and friends.
The survey explores how easy it was to access support, the quality of it, what worked well and what could be improved.
It also wants to hear professionals’ experiences of signposting or referring people to mental health services in Lincolnshire, how effective the processes are and any changes seen in the need for and type of mental health support over the past six months.
A Healthwatch Lincolnshire spokesman said: “Over the last two years, it is not just physical health services that have been under pressure.
“The lack of support available to help with people’s mental health also appears to be worsening.
“From feedback received, members of the public have highlighted their concerns over access to mental health support services and their resultant wait times.
“Members of the public have commented that they have struggled to access support whilst they are waiting for their referral to be processed.
“Our survey aims to give you the opportunity to share your views and experiences to help better understand what is working and what needs improving for Lincolnshire.
“Everything you tell us is confidential and will help us and the NHS understand what they need to put in place to better support people like you.
“So, whether you had a positive or negative experience with mental health support, we want to hear it.”
There’s two sperate links for the surveys, one for the public at www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LFO0NV/ There’s another for health and social care professionals at www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/ROPS8I/
Both surveys close on October 6. You can otherwise ring 01205 820892 or email: info@healthwatch
