Seniors’ section ace Brian Newby kicked off the 2015 calendar at Tydd St Giles Golf Club with a countback triumph in Division One of the Monthly Medal competition.
Newby (82-13=69) edged out Steve Skoulding (86-17=69) on countback to take the spoils in the top tier.
Russell Doy (87-17=70) completed the top trio in Division One.
The other divisional winners on the day were Barry Hill, John Gamble and Peter Neve, with Barrie Mutimer, Derek Martin and Alex Harding the respective runners-up.
