If you are looking for different ways to occupy your new found spare time, to try something new or revisit a hobby or activity you loved when you were younger then take a tip from me think about joining the U3A (University of the Third Age).
The U3A is a national organisation with more than 1,000 local groups with 430,000 members across the country and you are so lucky that you have one here in South Holland, the U3A Sutton Bridge, serving Sutton Bridge, Long Sutton, Holbeach and all the surrounding villages.
U3Ais non-political, non-religious; it is just normal, regular people who want to socialise, make new friends and do what interests them with others.
U3A Sutton Bridge has a membership of about 130 local people and has more than 20 interest groups running at this time and these include archery, table tennis, discussion, dining out, just visit our website to see what’s on offer: u3asites.org.uk/suttonbridge
Can’t find something that you would like to do? No problem, just join us and start your own interest group with existing members who would also like to have a go at what you are suggesting.
Or, come along to one of our monthly general meetings held on the first Tuesday of every month.
The September meeting is at The Market House, Long Sutton, the October meeting will be at The Curlew Centre at Sutton Bridge, and then at the same venues alternately throughout the year.
Meetings start at 2pm, doors open at 1.30pm.
There is normally a guest speaker and entrance is £2 for non members and this includes tea/coffee and biscuits.
Annual membership is currently £17.
