In court over serious sexual assault

A Spalding resident has been sent for crown court trial accused of a serious sexual assault.

Nerijus Rozaitas (41) appeared before magistrates in Boston on Wednesday charged with penetrating the vagina of a woman with a finger without consent.

The offence, said to have occurred between January 1, 2017 and April 30, 2022, is indictable only and therefore the case must be heard at crown court.

Rozaitas is also accused of two sexual touching offences on the same woman between the same dates.

And he faces a further charge of disclosing private sexual photographs or film of her with intent to cause distress, between May 1 and June 1, 2022.

The defendant, formerly of Park Road and now living in Hannam Boulevard, will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing on August 23.

Bail was granted with the condition not to contact the complainant directly or indirectly.
