Appeal after 18-year-old with brain tumour’s bike is stolen

An 18-year-old with a brain tumour has been left distraught after his only transport was stolen from Spalding town centre this morning.

Jack Schweikhardt’s white BMW bike with mudguards was left outside of Gregg’s in Hall Place between 10.15am and 10.45am this morning.

The bike was locked to a pole, but it had been forced open.

His mum Jodie has launched an appeal to get the bike back.

“Jack is very poorly and his bike is his only mode of transport,” she said. “Please, let’s get this back for him.”

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “We have taken a report that a white BMW mountain bike, which was left in a bike rack in Hall Place, Spalding this morning has been stolen.

“The bike, which was locked, was stolen between 10.15 am and 10.45 am today.  The offender has removed the combination lock and taken the bike.  The lock was left behind.

“Our investigations are ongoing and as part of those inquiries we are appealing for anyone who may have information that will assist to contact us.  Please call 101 or alternatively contacted online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call 0800 555 111, please quote 23000431849.”
