Singer Will makes grand final

Gosberton teenager Will Silver has reached the grand final of the national Open Mic UK event.

Will (15) sang It’s Not That Easy by Lemar to impress the judges at the under-16s group area final in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

He was one of four competitors chosen from 31 to make it through.

Grandmother Jenny Crunkhorn, of Pinchbeck, said: “It was the best we have ever heard Will sing. He was brilliant.

“He’s now through to the grand final at the NEC in Birmingham early next year.

“We’re all so proud of him.”

If Will wins the competition he’ll walk away with £5,000.

Following an appeal in the Voice, South Holland Rotary Club sponsored the coach to get Will’s friends and family to the event with a £150 donation.
