Boxers raise £2,149 for Children in Need

Staff at Pinchbeck’s Spar raised a whopping £2,149 with a 12-hour boxathon in aid of Children in Need.

Money was raised by asking shoppers to make a donation and guess the number of punches that would be thrown in total throughout the day.

A spokesman for the shop said: “We found it very hard as this was the first year we didn’t do a leg based challenge and naturally you have a bit of endurance in your legs due to walking but using the arms was really tough.

“The atmosphere in the shop was amazing this year, the best i have ever known with customers joining in to make the day so much more special.”

They managed a total of 36,926 punches.

Shoppers also had the chance to win great raffle prizes, including a bike won by the village’s lollipop lady.
