Swimming: Gold medals for Spalding club members Luke and Emily in Sheffield

South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club member Luke Elliott won six medals in the Snow Frills Open Meet at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Coached and supported by Callum Lawson, he took gold in 200m and 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, silver in 50m backstroke and bronze in 100m and 50m breaststroke.

Emily McCann won gold in 200 individual medley, silver in 50m breaststoke and bronze in 50m butterfly.

Eighteen swimmers from the Spalding club attended. Over the two days Mollie Briggs and Millie Pinguenet (both 9yrs), Dusty Saines, Ellisha Cookson and Matthew O’ Reilly (all 10yrs), Amelia Fovargue and Atticus Strickland (both 11yrs) Bronte Claridge and Emily McCann (both 12yrs), Lucy Baker and Luke Blanchard (both 13yrs) Serena Leadbeater (14yrs), Rebecca McKenzie, Gemma Baker, Colin O’ Reilly, Tim Wakefield, Luke Elliott (all 15yrs) and Olivia Harper (16yrs) swam in a total of 117 races.
