Plumber offers a flood of kindness

A kind-hearted South Holland plumber is offering to fit a new gas boiler for a person or family who is struggling with the cost of living rise.

Symon Watson, of Long Sutton, has been a plumber since leaving school and knows that many people are finding the cost of living hard at the moment.
“We go into a lot of homes and there are people who are finding things really difficult. I just thought it would be nice if we can put a little bit back,” he said.
“We have decided to give one household who are struggling, because their current boiler is old and costly, a free gas boiler installation,” says a post on the Symson Plumbing and Heating Facebook page.
Symon, who is originally from Lutton and has been in business for ten years, said potential recipients can be nominated by sending a message via the company’s Facebook page.
“We hope that it will really help someone and make a difference,” said Symon.
Working with his apprentice, Sam Skape, he will supply and fit the boiler when a recipient has been chosen.
South Holland has its fair share of people and organisations offering help during the cost of living crisis and beyond.
Holbeach Hero’s run a Facebook support group to help people in the area with everything from food to birthday presents and items of furniture.
There are foodbanks in Spalding, Holbeach, Long Sutton and Crowland. Warm spaces have also been running at various location across the region. Venues include Tonic Health, Westlode Street, Spalding, which also has a night light cafe twice a week.
