Report of man with gun sparked Spalding police search

Reports of a man with a handgun sparked a police search which included their helicopter in Spalding last night.

It was reported at 8.17pm yesterday (Sunday, January 15) following an incident in Hall Place.

The police helicopter was seen and heard circling around Spalding town centre and Woolram Wygate area.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.17pm last night to Hall Place, Spalding, with a report of a group of men, one of whom was believed to have been seen with a handgun.

“We searched the area with support from NPAS (National Police Air Support).

“No suspect was found and so enquiries are ongoing.”
