Last chance to give gifts for our appeal

People have been incredibly generous in supporting our Give A Gift appeal this year.

We have already received many gifts but we still need more presents and there are only a few days left to donate.

Launched by Coun Harry Drury, the appeal makes a huge difference to struggling families across South Holland and Boston, ensuring less fortunate children aged between three and 14-years-old who wouldn’t get a present, have something to open on Christmas Day.

This year we have teamed up with Mark Le Sage, founder of Ella’s Project, to make the appeal even bigger and better.

Through Mark’s partnership with Lord’s Collectables, we are able to accept monetary donations for the first time.

For every donation made, Lord Collectables will buy and donate toys to the appeal.

The company has got the ball rolling by donating £100 worth of toys.

Visit the website www.lordcollectables.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=&q=toy+appeal to make a donation.

This year our appeal closes at 5pm on Sunday, December 11 so there’s still time to pop an extra gift in your basket while you’re doing your Christmas shopping.

We respectfully ask you not to gift wrap your present to allow it to be assessed for age and gender so it is given to a suitable child.

All presents will go to South Holland and Boston Child Services to distribute in time for Christmas.

Collection points this year are:

  • DGG Property Consultants, Pinchbeck Road, Spalding;
  • Spalding Fire Station, West Elloe Avenue (go to the reception door or leave gifts in the porch);
  • Courtyard Footcare, Health and Beauty, 66 Swan Street, Spalding;
  • Sainsbury’s, Holland Market, Spalding,
  • Nat West, Market Place, Spalding;
  • Spalding Travel.

If you know of any families in the South Holland or Boston area who might benefit from the campaign, email Rachel in confidence at [email protected] or write to Spalding and South Holland Voice, Office C, 1 Goodison Road, Lincs Gateway Business Park, PE12 6FY.
