My company Elite Sports Academy recently ran our very own school football festival.

The event was held at Pinchbeck United Football Club and consisted of 16 teams from 12 different primary schools.

The day was a huge success, with some fantastic football on show from everyone involved.

It wasn’t just the football which was pleasing, but also the information and guidance being passed onto the children from the adults running their team was exemplary.

During the morning the schools all competed in their group games, jostling for position and to see whether they would qualify out of their group and compete for top honours in the afternoon via the knockout stages.

The teams came from a number of primary schools around Lincolnshire and heading into Cambridgeshire, with the likes of Pinchbeck Primary School, Spalding Primary School, Holbeach St Marks, Baston Primary School, Cowbit Primary School and several others all involved in the action.

On the day there could only be one winner – and our very first ESA (Elite Sport Academy) champions were Spalding Primary, having just edged out Baston Primary 1-0 in a dramatic final.

Although a lot of congratulations go to Spalding Primary for being champions, praise must go to all of the children and school staff who represented themselves fantastically both on and off the pitch in what was a great day throughout.

A big thank you must go to Pinchbeck United for allowing us to host the first of what will now be an annual school games tournament at their facility.

Another big thank you must go to Graham Bowater at Bowater Wealth Management for sponsoring this event.

My last thank you must go to my team, who worked tirelessly to ensure such a smooth running well organised event.

We now look forward to hosting many more events and giving the children in our area lots of chances to compete and learn through sports.
