Century of medals for on-song South Lincs

A record number of South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club members took part in the the 63rd annual Lincolnshire ASA Championships – and they guided the Spalding-based team to a super second place.

Coached by Callum Lawson and supported by Mandy Houghton, Michelle Elliott, Clare and Jonathon Fovargue, the Castle Sports Complex club celebrated an incredible 38 gold, 30 silver and 34 bronze medals for an amazing overall total of 102.

Teenager Luke Elliott stole the show for South Lincs at the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth. He put in an incredible performance in the 14 years section with a stunning seven junior county championship titles.

His team-mate Tom Mitchell was also on fantastic form in the 16 years group, claiming three senior titles.

Meanwhile, nine-year-olds Elisha May Cookson and Dusty Saines and 14-year-old Tim Wakefield made their debut appearances.
