Potton United 1 Pinchbeck United 2
It’s now three wins on the spin for Pinchbeck United after a 2-1 triumph at Potton United in the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Tuesday night.
The Knights, fresh off the back of big wins over Selston and Deeping Rangers, took the lead in the closing stages of the first half when skipper Neal Spafford met a Joe Melson delivery.
Potton had their chances on the night and, after missing a huge opportunity to level the scores, duly equalised through Cole Butler early in the second half.
However, Lewis Thorogood’s Knights are made of stern stuff these days and they re-took the lead 20 minutes from time.
Andre Williams, who had earlier missed a one-on-one chance, delivered the ball into the middle and a home defender turned it into his own net.
It was scrappy, but Pinchbeck didn’t care as they booked their place in the next round.
Knights: Smith, Stevens (Hardstaff 80), Millar, Melson, Simpson, Worthington (Johnson 71), Williams, Burdass, Vieira, Spafford (Peasgood 58), Foster. Not used: Pike.
Attendance: 83.
