Sounds of the 60s and 70s raise £850 for chemo unit

The ever popular sounds of the 60s and 70s filled Spalding Grammar School hall when Spalding Lions held its latest fundraising event.

This year the proceeds are being donated to the charity Hope for Tomorrow, which aims to bring a mobile chemotherapy unit to our local hospital.

The evening, as in previous years, was a resounding success.

The hall was transformed with wall decorations to help with the illusion of the disco era.

Many of those present dressed in the style according to the decade. During the evening those that were in fancy dress were judged by two mystery judges.

Music was provided by Alan Long Services and guests tucked into a hog roast prepared and delivered by Trevor Sharp Butchers, Gosberton.

Jean Biggadike, of the Lions, said: “This evening is one that many put in their diary’s knowing that it is one not to be missed.”

The event raised in the region of £850 for the good cause.
