Call for pooch superheroes

Guide Dogs for the Blind is calling on dog owners in Spalding and surrounding villages to make their pet pooch a hero for the day by taking part in Dogs Unite!

The Dogs Unite event on Saturday promises fantastic fun for all the family and their pets, who can dress up in a special hero cape!

Dogs Unite is a series of sponsored dog walks taking place around the country to help Guide Dogs raise money to create more life-changing guide dog partnerships.

The sponsored walk takes place on Saturday 11th October at the Castle Sports Complex field.

Spalding’s local guide dogs and their owners will be taking part in the walks with everyone at 11am and 1pm.

Kate Alexander, local volunteer fundraising organiser, has recently taken over this role from Val Delve who has been a local fundraising hero for over three years on behalf of Guide Dogs.

Kate said “I am calling on all dog lovers to come and celebrate their furry heroes with us at our Dogs Unite event.”

You can sign up to take part online at www.dogsunite.org.uk or www.facebook.com/dogsunite.

You can also call 0845 600 6787.

On the day your furry friend will receive a superhero cape and a goody bag just for taking part.
