Green light to demolish garages for home

A bid to build a three bedroom house on garages in a small Holbeach road has been passed despite objections.

Residents had expressed concerns that Chancery Lane was already the scene of traffic problems due to parking on the road and argued that and the additional home along with the loss of garages would make it significantly worse.

However South Holland District Council’s Planning Committee went with officer’s recommendations and decided it would not make enough of a difference to warrant a refusal.

Coun Roger Gambba-Jones told the meeting of the committee: “I don’t think the application makes much difference to the scene as they still have an issue down there with the current occupants and the way they park.”
