New bench for reflection

Walkers can take the weight off and enjoy a view of the River Welland thanks to Coun Glynis Scalese.

Coun Scalese has used money from her designated council budget to pay for a bench to be installed in Spalding to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Coun Scalese said: “The old one was very worn and I know this bench is used by many people, it will mean a lot to them as it does to me.

“It will give people space and time to reflect and because it overlooks the river with the ducks and swans swimming by it will give a sense of good feeling and well-being. This is very important to me as I promote mental health issues and equality diversity and empathy at all times.

“People’s well-being is paramount to us all, everyone suffers at some point in their life, to have somewhere lovely and peaceful to sit will make a big difference in the community.”
