Wilson aiming to finish tough season on a high

With the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship drawing to a close, Ben Wilson is hoping to finish with a flourish.

The Kirton race ace travels to Silverstone in Northamptonshire for the penultimate round of the series this weekend as he bids to end a testing campaign on a high note.

The last round at Assen’s Cathedral of Speed saw the Gearlink Kawasaki ace finish the first race in a points scoring position.

He was hoping for more of the same in race two, but was involved in a four rider incident.

Although he didn’t actually crash, he was forced to run wide at speed over the gravel to avoid running over Chris Walker and his bike suffered race-ending damage.

This weekend’s schedule is as follows: Friday: Free practice one (FP1) – 10.10am; FP2 – 3.35pm.  Saturday: FP3 – 10.35am; Qualifying – 4.05pm. Sunday: Warm up – 9.45am; Race one – (14 laps) 1.30pm; Race two – 4.30pm.
