Wallis is on top of Spalding Cycling Club time trial again as Ward edges the battle for second

Last Tuesday night saw Spalding Cycling Club return to Pode Hole – but not on their very popular usual course.

Recent road resurfacing work has meant a switch to an out and back course with a dead turn in the road.

That meant that the course was slightly longer than the usual ten-mile time trial standard at a total 10.6miles.

The usual suspects were fighting it out at the top of the timesheet, with Josh Wallis taking the win with a time of 21.51mins.

The season-long battle for second again went to Chris Ward, but this time he was followed home closely by an in-form Neil Palmer.

This week he closed the gap to his rival and was only seven seconds back.

Behind the top three, Frazer Wallis slipped to fourth and was a further ten seconds back.

Meanwhile, the fastest road bike award again went to Kieran Buffham, who clocked in with a time of 24.25mins.

Joseph Townsend once again claimed the top bonuses amongst the Spalding CC youngsters as he came home ahead of nearest rival Jacob Booth.
