Supermarket helps fund sessions

Sessions that aim to help those with mental health issues in Spalding have been funded for a number of months thanks to a supermarket’s donation.

Tonic Health’s Safe Places invites people in to talk to each other and volunteers and hang out with refreshments.

And the cost of running them for several weeks has been covered thanks to a £1,000 donation by Waitrose’s Stamford branch.

Their night manager Simon Smith popped along to meet some of the volunteers and users of the service last week to get an idea of how the charity helps those with mental health issues.

Ruth Taplin Tonic Health’s Safe Places co-ordinator, said the donation would help: “We are very grateful for this amazing amount of money raised.

“A huge thank you goes to Waitrose, Stamford.”

Simon Smith presents the cheque.
