Town group raises £20,000

A charity shop in Crowland has donated £20,000 to good causes.

The Crowland Cancer Fund was able to hand out donations raised from sales in its East Street shop over the past couple of COVID-19 affected years.

At its annual presentation evening £4,000 each was donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care, Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospic, St Barnabas Hospice, Macmillan Centre at Peterborough City Hospital and Teenage Cancer Care.

The shop’s Libby Jones said: “Our shop is always pleased to accept donations however we do not stock clothing or shoes but accept (with a few exceptions) most other items such as bric-a-brac, china, cutlery, curtains, linens, books (novels only) toys, and other household items.”
