Hunting for ducks in Holbeach

Around 200 children took part in an Easter duck hunt around Holbeach on Saturday.

Organised by Holbeach Parish Council, the free event saw youngsters collect entry forms from councillors at the churchyard before setting off in search of pictures of ducks around Carter’s Park, the High Street and the churchyard.

Each duck had a letter on it and the children had to use them to make an Easter themed word for each area before claiming their Easter treat.

Coun Isobel Hutchinson said: “It was a very successful day and we estimate we had nearly 200 children taking part.

“It was good to see the town so busy on a Saturday.”

As well as the duck hunt, visitors to Holbeach could pop into town shop Funky Dora’s where there was an Easter raffle with anyone spending over £30 receiving a free ticket.

Carter’s Park Bowls Club also held an open day, giving people a chance to try the sport.
