LETTER: Why can’t toilets be maintained?

I have just read the letter from Heather James regarding the disgusting state of the toilets at the bus station and agree with everything she says.
Why would people want to visit Spalding when these so-called facilities are in such a terrible state? As Heather pointed out – if other towns can maintain their toilets, why can’t Spalding?
I am also amazed that the toilets in the town centre are still locked and barred – why? Presumably lack of funds, but surely this issue should be given priority?
Also (and admittedly some time ago) I was desperate on a long journey home and needed to use the bus station toilets, only to find they were locked at 4pm! How do people cope with this situation if they want to stay in Spalding till after the shops close? This does not encourage people to visit what could and should be a lovely little town.
