PDFL round-up: Matt nets a hatful for Tydd, Crowland see off Sutton in derby

Matt Eaton helped himself to four goals as Tydd thrashed promotion rivals Ramsey Town 5-2 in ChromaSport PDFL Division One on Saturday.

Striker Eaton netted on 28, 57, 60 and 63 minutes at Tydd St Mary Playing Field, before Timmy Magnus wrapped up the victory ten minutes from time.

The win leaves Tydd fourth, just three points off second place.

Elsewhere in Division One, goals from John Ball and Boston Cash earned Moulton Harrox Reserves a 2-2 draw with Whittlesey Athletic Reserves.

It wasn’t such a good day for Crowland Town Reserves and Pinchbeck United Reserves, though.

Crowland were hammered 13-2 at home by Eunice Huntingdon despite a Michael Smith double, while Pincheck were drubbed 9-0 by visitors Deeping Rangers Reserves.

Up in the Premier Division, two second-half strikes were enough to give Crowland Town a 2-0 derby victory at Long Sutton Athletic.

Danny Firth and Samuel Leggatt both grabbed goals at London Road to keep Crowland seventh in the standings, just four points off third place.

Sutton, meanwhile, are three points adrift at the bottom.

Holbeach United Reserves remain third but suffered a surprise 3-1 home defeat against lowly Stamford Belvedere. Kyle Compton was the scorer for the Tigers.

In Division Two, Holbeach Sports smashed hosts FC Hampton 7-2 as Bradleigh Appleby, Adam Day, Jack Greenacre, Rob Shaw, Glen Wells, Liam Mead and Ben Mansour all notched.

However, Long Sutton Reserves lost 6-3 at Farcet United.

In Division Three, Tydd came unstuck 3-2 at Casterton.

Sutton Bridge United fared much better in Division Four as Mark Garner fired four in a 6-0 win over Oundle Reserves. Kurt Scott and Joseph Sutton also netted.
