The festive spirit is back in Holbeach this Christmas with a host of events returning as well as some new additions to the calendar.
Ever popular event such as the Holbeach St Nicholas Fayre and Lantern Parade are returning.
And there will be new incentives to visit the many brilliant local businesses in the town.
The Christmas season has already began with a Big Bang, a day long celebration of shops in the town held on November 4.
The momentum keeps going into December.
The hugely popular Lantern Parade takes place from Friday, December 3 5pm-9pm as The St Nicholas Fayre launches.
The event centred in and around All Saints’ Church carries the festivities on the next day, Saturday, December 4 between 10am-4pm. Among the attractions will be craft and gift stalls, specialist suppliers of food and drink and much more.
Throughout December, Holbeach Parish Council is urging businesses to get involved with a ‘Christmas Window’ competition and duck advent calendar.
The latter will involve businesses putting a duck in their shop for children to find, with the location of one duck being revealed each day throughout December.
For the Christmas Window competition, the public will vote.
Coun Isobel Hutchinson, said: “All shops will be given a number, unless they do not wish to take part, and the public will vote for their favourite either online or by handing it in at the council office.
“Windows need to be ready for November 26 and the winner will be announced in week beginning December 20.
“We are also asking shops to display an advent duck in there windows for children to find.
“On each day of advent we will reveal which business has that duck and promote them on our Facebook page. If any business is interested in having a duck please contact [email protected]”
