All aboard model railway club

It’s full steam ahead again for Spalding Model Railway Club which is on the look out for new members to get on board.

The club, which is based above Pinchbeck Village Hall in Knight Street, has over 40 members aged 14 and over.

It meets from 10am on Tuesday or from 7pm on Fridays.

A spokesman for the club said: “With the relaxation of the Covid regulations Spalding Model Railway Club is once again open for members to meet, to run model trains, to work on the various layouts that the club owns, or to discuss future projects.

“With a current membership of over 40, the club caters for a wide variety of ages and modelling experience.

“Layouts range from the smallest N gauge to O gauge as well as British, American and Continental in OO/HO gauge.

“Inexperience is not a bar to joining. Members of the club are happy to share their own knowledge and expertise.

“From advice on what equipment to buy to a practical demonstration on modelling techniques, new members only have to ask.”

The club has however for a second year had to cancel its planned annual exhibition after surveying potential exhibitors and traders.

A two-day exhibition has now been arranged for November 5 and 6, 2022 for the return of what is known as the largest model railway exhibition in the east of England.
