Thorogood reckons confidence is flowing at Pinchbeck ahead of testing trip

Pinchbeck United are bidding to make it four Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North games unbeaten on Saturday – but face an uphill task at high-flying Heather St John’s (3pm).

One of the league’s early pace-setters, Knights boss Lewis Thorogood admits he knows very little about the Coalville-based outfit.

But, having thrashed Newark FC 5-2 last weekend, confidence is high in the Pinchbeck camp.

“We’d obviously love to make it four games unbeaten,” said Thorogood. “I’m obviously a realist though – and would have settled for a draw against Newark!

“It’ll be very difficult on Saturday, they’ve had a very good start and are a side we know very little about.

“But the difference with us now is that we can go to these kind of places with more confidence.

“Perhaps teams look at us as less of a soft touch too, which is something we’ve been working towards for a while now.

“We’ll go there and keep doing what we’ve been doing, but won’t get carried away with our recent results.”

Pinchbeck will be without young talent Finn Armond, who is expected to be in the Boston United squad for their FA Cup clash against Corby Town.

Other than that, the Knights hope to be at full strength for their trip.

Unbeaten Heather St John’s have won two and drawn the other of their three home games this season, with James Spruce netting five goals.
