Andrew Tidswell’s first goal of the season earned Spalding United their first away point of the Evo-Stik League First Division South campaign on Monday.

After a goalless first period, hosts Carlton Town looked set for their first win of the season when they went ahead on 58 minutes through Aaron Hooton.

Prolific striker Tidswell (63) had other ideas and levelled matters just past the hour, ensuring the Tulips got something from a tricky trip.

It could have been even better for Pat Rayment’s charges, but Ash Burbeary missed a glorious one-on-one opportunity at the death.

Luke Thurlbourne, signed from St Neots Town on the morning of the match, made his debut as a substitute.
