LETTER: Castle field is not right for funfair

I refer to the article in The Voice of August 5 regarding relocating the funfair.
I would wholeheartedly agree that the existing location of Victoria Street car park is totally unsuitable for this event. But I would not agree with the suggestion of relocating to the Castle Playing Field as there is definitely a lack of car parking at this site due to the existing customers using the sports complex and the swimming pool.
Where do they park while the fun fair is in progress, remembering that some of these regular customers are of a more mature age group and would find it very difficult if they had to park further away?
Secondly, where are the toilet facilities for the funfair? You cannot expect them to use the complex as these are for paying customers only.
Thirdly, this park backs directly onto private residential homes, who would have to endure the noise until late evening.
However, Springfields grounds are ideal and fit for purpose with toilet facilities and car parking to cater for any amount of people and not in a residential area, so would not cause any nuisance to the local community in the way of noise and anti social behaviour.
