South Holland duo Spalding United and Holbeach United endured mixed fortunes on Saturday.

Holbeach cruised to a 5-1 win at Diss Town in the FA Cup, while Spalding slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Sutton Coldfield Town in their Evo-Stik League First Division South opener.

Once again Lee Dube was the hero for Holbeach, firing his second hat-trick this week to make it eight goals in just three games for the former Oadby Town ace.

Ash Fuller and Jake Duffy were the other scorers for the Tigers at Diss, as they booked a home date with either Boston Town or Walsham Le Willows in the next round.

Meanwhile, Jordan Tunnicliffe notched in the first half for Sutton Coldfield against Pat Rayment’s Tulips, before Jack Richards added as second in the 83rd minute.

Spalding will hope to register their first win of the season on Tuesday night, when Brigg Town visit the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field (7.45pm).
