Blow to head caused death

A woman died after suffering a blow to the head, an inquest has heard.
Francesca Laing (70), of Georgian Court, Spalding, was found dead in her home on September 13.
The inquest into her death at Lincoln Coroner’s Court heard she had no health issues and it was not known how she suffered the injury which caused a haemorrhage.
In a statement read out in court, Mrs Laing’s daughter said: “My mum, in the run up to her death, was very fit, well and happy. Post COVID-19 regulations she was back out and visiting her friends, walking into town to her friend’s house.
“She played golf each week over the summer holidays and had been taking her granddaughter with her. She had a very full calendar of visits planned.”
The inquest heard Mrs Laing was last seen dusting by a friend.
On the day her body was found she was meant to have met a friend, the inquest was told.
Coroner Paul Cooper, said: “For whatever reason there must have been a fall or some kind of impact upon the deceased that’s caused her death.
“I appreciate the family know nothing about this but Francesca would have known herself and the conclusion in this case is one of accident.”
